And ... it still has the new 'simplified and streamlined' version of the Import dialog ...

Which is of little use to any user who would prefer to retain the functionality that was available in 6.1.1 and prior ....

The goal was to address the stability and performance issues as quickly as possible. The team is still working on addressing the other workflow concerns.

I understand that. I was merely clarifying that any users be aware of the situation so they would not have to endure the repeated hassle of once more rolling back to v6.1.1.

One turn at that experience should be enough.

The issue with black thumbnails and black images after import is still not solved!

Hi Gerald,

Yes, this release was focused on repairing the crash and some painful performance issues. The black images after import bug is one we are still working on. Until we get a fix for that released, you can go to Lightroom Preferences, go to the Presets tab and uncheck Apply Auto tone adjustments.

for users who have upgraded to Mac El Capitan tethering is broken, will not even recognize camera attached. I also checked Adobe site and they said it will not work on Nikon and Leica camera's until they issue a fix.

You are correct, if you have upgraded to El Capitan and if you shoot Leica or Nikon, tethering is no longer working. If you are a Yosemite/Windows user you should be fine.

Yes, I got used to the tethering in Yomite and miss it very much now. Wish I would have waited longer before the upgrade. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Thanks for the quick replies.

This release did not fix the bug with Synchronize folders. The dialog box shows the number of new photos, but when you click on Sychronize, it runs for quite a while and comes back with No New Photos or Videos Found. Rolled back to 6.1 and this is working again.

Any idea when the previous import functionality will be restored?
Until then, LR is not useful for importing new images.
If return of previous LR functionality is not anticipated in the very near future, I will need to reinstall the previous version. However, this is time consuming as I am only quasi-comfortable doing such a procedure (I have over 300,000 photos in LR).
Any chance Adobe could re-release the previous version (so I could simply install it)?
Thanks. - Jack

No updates yet, and I'd expect it to take some time, but the roll back is easy. Back up first to put your mind at ease. http://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-...

Victoria,

Many thanks for the advice.

I felt like I was "sucker punched" when I found out I had lost many valuable features on importing without being warned. I assumed the update was a routine update, not a fundamental change.

My lightrom 6.2.1 is something like not usable to work. Time lag in doing almost everything, this is not acceptable. The new import window is something for children not for professionals. You removed some useful option from the right click, why?
Can I have my money back? I want to move back to the 5.7 version.

See this post. You can roll back to the prior 6.1.1 update until things are reverted and corrected: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjourn...

Still wondering when LR will be available for tethering with El Capitan and Nikon camera's. Tethering works in C1 but I would rather to continue with LR. El Capitan has been updated twice and others can tether with El Capitan so why not LR. It has been 2 months and I believe it's time.
