Lightroom CC15.10.1 Crashing

I have been using LR for a very long time and I have been very happy with stability.  However, recently my system and others I have been teaching, has crashed or locked needing a force-quit.  I'm on OSX 10.11.6

Anyone else getting this?

Sometimes weird behavior is corrected/cured by resetting the preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Does the continuous DNG writing behavior continue after resetting the preferences?

Thanks for the reply.  I have reset my preferences, lets see how it goes....

I got a reply about the DNG issue.  It looks like the problem has been resolved in the background at some point.  Its working fine now thanks.

Hi Adrian,

I'm using Lightroom 4-6 hours a day and have (in recent times) been experiencing random shutdowns doing a variety of things like synchronising folders, copying settings, etc...

Sometimes a problem will repeat after shutdown(s) and requires a computer restart. Although relatively frequent (compared to earlier Lightroom versions) I can't tie the behaviour to any specific cause/action.

My working theory is that the instability is Sierra related and that over time the issues will get sorted. I'm just an optimistic guy I guess.

I'm on ElCapitan, actually considered upgrading but it's obviously not OS related then!
I don't think I have ever experienced a lockup needing force quit in any previous version. But in the past few weeks it's happened to me twice, and to two different students.

Hi Adrian,

Would you mind sharing the crash log either here or following https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/crash-next-steps.html? Preferences crash issue is Sierra only and shouldn't affect El Capitan. But recently we have seen some GPU driver updates causing crash like AMD.

Thanks,
Chandan

Sorry i meant https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/submit-crash-reports.html but the procedure's same.

For older crashes: you can open console, go to System Reports and search for .crash file for LR.

Thanks,
Chandan
