Lightroom CC - Migration from LR Classic Catalog hangs?

Hi everyone,

i installed yesterday the Lightroom CC 2.0 version for the Mac and decided to switch completely over from LR Classic to LR CC.

I followed the instructions in Migrate photos and videos from Lightroom Classic CC to Lightroom CC

My "old" LR Classic catalog is on my internal harddrive on my iMac. The original photos are on my NAS.

I configured LR CC (before i started the migration), that a copy of all originals should be placed on that NAS.

The migration went well (painfully slow, but progress was visible), until it got stuck (at least that is my impression) while adding the photos - it is at 46% since at least 12 hours. There is no error message or anything else.

I checked the folder where LR CC copies the originals on the NAS and the last photo was created 14 hours ago - according to the file creation date. The NAS still works fine and all connections are alive - the NAS wasn't rebooted since 7 days. So everything should be working fine.

So what are my options here? My old LR Classic catalog has around 80.000 pictures (about 300GB).

There is no way to pause/cancel the migration process (at least there is no button). Also i heard, that you can only migrate your old catalog ONE time. So i am a little bit in the loss here...

What should i do to avoid any data loss or corruption?

Greetings Peter Pan,

If the migration stalls, and it sounds as if it is, you can restart it. Lightroom CC should remember that the catalog migration was in progress and resume from the point it left off. You may need to use the OS to close the Lightroom CC program to restart if it is non-responsive.

That didn't help.

I closed Lightroom CC and rebooted the Mac. After opening Lightroom CC again, i watched a spinning wheel for about an hour(!). After that the already migrated pictures began to show up (29740 of more than 80000 photos). But there is no resuming of the migration visible.

If i try to click on import a Lightroom catalog NOTHING appears - no window, no message, nothing. If i click again on import Lightroom catalog a message appears that there is already a pending migration. But where is it?

I'm still at a loss. What should i do? Is there a possibility to start over?

When you see the dialog warning you of a pending migration could you capture that dialog and post it here?
