Thank you for listening to us on this feature. Rikk I opened up the web version of Adobe Lightroom product and don't see it there. Is this a downloaded app feature only? Where should we see this showing up?

It currently appears in the CC for desktop version, the iOS mobile version and the iOS Android version.

Yeah thanks. But.... When I downloaded v2.0 and then went into People it just said "No people yet, Lightroom will scan for them". I went back an hour later and still nothing... Please help...

From our help doc:

When I access the People View, why does Lightroom CC display 'No People Found Yet'?

Initial indexing of your photos may take some time. The ‘No People Found Yet’ message is displayed when Lightroom is still analyzing all your photos to find people or when there aren't any people in your photos.

I’ve been setup for over a month too. I’ve got a small number of people identified, but it’s very very slow progress. Eg: I have an album with photos of my daughter that has over 3000 photos - so far Lightroom has found 110 photos of her. That’s pretty representative of how it’s going. I’d say it’s analysed about 3% of my photos, but it’s very hard to tell because you aren’t given any stats to know?. And it hasn’t progressed at all in the last few days.

@Rikk - I only have a small portion of my photos imported in and have seen no face detection yet. I REALLY like what LR can do for my photo library, so hopefully you guys can come up with a fix for it...

When will an iOS version that works on iPad be available? Having just an iPhone compatible version isn’t very helpful to those of us who do archival work vs just organizing daily photos.

Jamie, It is there now after you update. Make certain you've installed Lightroom for iOS for the iPad on your iPad. Double check the version number by tapping the [...] icon and choosing Settings>About Lightroom. The correct version number is 4.0.0.  If you have this version installed, you should see a People section above the list of Albums.

I have the update. It has a bunch of entries in the People Section. I believe the people form my LR Classic migration

On my iPad or iPhone, how do I create new “people” in the people group? How do I add people to the correct group?

THanks
I don’t see a way to add people using my iMac either...

I upgraded LR CC 18 hours ago, i have 30,000 photos, and "People" still shows "No Faces Detected". Do I still need to wait, or is there a problem that I do not have any detected faces yet?

839.65 GB available of 1TB; and I have 19,137 photos.Over 48 hours now and still nothing.Appreciate the work you guys are surely doing behind the scenes—but I think some lessons learned on this. It’s really poorly communicated, and for us users just seems broken :/ Can’t wair for it to be up and running properly, I have been hanging out for this one.

For those of you who are still waiting for People Categorization to complete indexing. Can you go to Lightroom CC desktop app - click on the Cloud icon in the upper right and let me know what your used storage amount is?

I'm not seeing anything in People View on my Lightroom CC Desktop or Mobile, even after indexing all the faces in Lightroom Classic CC and syncing the photo indexing.
I really don't have an urgent use for it right now but it's an itch i need to scratch :)

My people view does not sync between mobile and desktop Classic or new Coke in my experience. As a Classic user, I have 5 years of people tags that I'd rather not retag so they are accessible by mobile. I would appreciate the syncing of Classic's people view with the cloud versions.

I updated my lightroom deskopt to 2.01. I see a people tab. When I open the tab, first a spinner is displayed which quickly disppers, leaving a blank screen. There is no message of any sort just a blank screen under people tab.

User storage amount: 165.30 GB

"Initial indexing of your photos may take some time. The ‘No People Found Yet’ message is displayed when Lightroom is still analyzing all your photos to find people or when there aren't any people in your photos. On a side note, this analysis takes place on Adobe’s servers and not on your local computer.  You can use your computer and close Lightroom CC without extending the time to complete the analysis. Thank you for your patience.“

Yes, please be more specific, as it took one month to start indexing and become searchable when I signed up as well (only about 3000 images). That is indeed some time.

Five full days here now, and still nothing. I do not think it is working, can I please get some troubleshooting help? Five days of just a blank screen is not a working feature...

Faces were detected on Day 1, but I suspect that it was a result of the files already being tagged from Lightroom Classic.  No other updates. Any idea how long this indexing process is supposed to take?

Who wrote this "official response"?  It is the worst output from a clueless PR department I have read in many years.
Adobe needs to come clean and acknowledge the problem, give an estimated time for the fix, and/or pull the feature and don't release it again until the existing cloud library of photos has already been indexed.
This isn't a life-critical problem, so why stonewall?  Lives are not being lost because this feature is massively broken, only Adobe's ego.
Why not be more open and just admin the screw-up and move forward with reasonable timeframes and plans to fix.

Robert, you're right, this communication channel is not working at all, but don't blame the messenger. It's already good we have at least "some" "official" answer.

I'm sure they read everything on the forum and take the issue seriously. I'm more worried about the manager's decisions and the general direction adobe is taking. As long as the subscriptions continues, they have no incentive to change their behavior. Such company ethic is very worrysome :(

There is no such "system processing" messaging in the Lightroom Classic version of the software.  This is extremely frustrating.  For more than two years, I have been asking for a help file explaining what the expectations are, such as, when I tag someone new, will the system go back through photos in the database and "suggest" that new name to older photos?  If so, how do I know when it's done doing that?  How does one know if it's working at all?

I have replied to threads where Senior Data Scientists were contributing and have not had any reply to my queries.

Phil,

This is a thread about Lightroom CC and does not apply to Lightroom Classic. They use completely different processes. I see you are active on another thread here: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/people-view-group-photos-imported-at-differen...

Sorry, the search feature brought these threads up when I searched Lightroom Classic...  And it would be great that if you have a feature that has been requested repeatedly in CC for someone to let us know if and when we might expect it in Classic.

Update: My people view started populated since yesterday. I think the process is complete and will have to see the quality of the results. I am not sure how they are prioritizing but I think its a matter of time. I wish they had communicated better about the delay in processing.

Me too! Finally People view working awesome! I love Adobe! Thanks for listening to users. I've been waiting for this feature for a long time, LR CC is really slowly getting to be as good LR Classic but with a much much better interface. Bindaas above is right too though, Adobe should provided more details about the delay. Other than that TYVM!

So I'm three days in and nothing in People yet.  Only 66.6GB of 1tb in use.  Seems that they should have slow rolled this feature out or add more processing power on the back end to handle it.
