Lightroom CC: error when starting

starts with an error message (screenshot attached)
when clicking ok, nothing happenedaccount details checked; seems ok


"An error occurred while signing up for your account. Please check your account details"

Does this happen every time you close Lightroom CC and reopen it?

A few tests you can run to help us isolate where the issue might be.

If you go to http://lightroom.adobe.com and attempt to sign in with the Adobe ID used to sign into Lightroom CC, does it sign in without error? 

If you sign out of Lightroom CC, Help>Sign out... and then sign back in, does the error go away?

If you sign out of your Creative Cloud Application and then sign back in again, does the error go away.
