Lightroom CC: Error reported merging to Panorama

I am getting an error under the following scenario:

I have a Panorama that stitches fine in Photoshop's Merge to Panorama, but I'd like to make use of the Lightroom CC panorama and the full "RAW" range it produces, but it is having difficulty with the same set of images. In Lightroom CC, the merge always ends up in a jumble. my images are stitched together into a mess that doesn't at all resembled what Photoshop is able to do. The stitch just doesn't work...

So to work around that, rather than trying to stitch all photos at once, I stitched 3 at a time, and now I have several smaller sub-panos that I want to now stitch into a single larger Pano. But, when I select the smaller panos, and photo merge, Lightroom gives an error. It doesn't even try to stitch.

Is there some sort of limit? Shouldn't I be able to stitch the smaller sections together?

This is the Error that Lightroom is giving when I try to stitch two "sub panos" together into a single larger "pano":

I wonder if there is a limit of 65000 for the width of a DNG or something. If you merge half the images how wide is the DNG?

I don't think I'm anywhere near the width limit.

The total width would be between 42572 and 49920 pixels if it were to actually stitch all the images correctly. (49920 would be the maximum... this is 13 images each 3840 wide x 5760 tall. So at most it would be 49920 x 5760.)

If the limit is 32000 instead of 64000 that could be the problem. How many can you stitch before it fails?

I believe "Unable to merge the photos. Please cancel and review your selection" tells you that Lr CC finds some inconsistency in your source photos, like the source photos are taken with different camera/lens/focal length/resolution/image sizes etc. In this case, I think the image sizes were the issue. The sub-panos were of different sizes.

If you can share and post the original source photos somewhere, I can ask the team to investigate. Lr CC and PS CC use a different merge engine.
