Lightroom CC error on startup api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll

Lightroom won't start, I receive message api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing.  I have uninstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable and tried to reinstall it.  When I do, this process gives me an error code of 0x80240017.

I don't know what to try next.  This whole process started because Lightroom CC I had install wouldn't recognize my Nikon D500 RAW files.

Second question, what is the difference between Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC?  Creative Cloud doesn't give me a choice of which one I want to install.

For the differences between Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC, I refer you here: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/lightroom-cc-vs-classic-features/

In short, Lightroom Classic CC is the next version of the Lightroom that has been around for 10 years. It is the upgrade to versions 1-6 and CC2015.x.

Lightroom CC is a completely new application based upon a cloud-centric approach to catalog management.

Unfortunately, that option doesn't appear in my list Rick. I'll send you a screen shot later this afternoon when I get back to the office.

Mine doesn't look like that Rick.

So how do I get past the real issue of getting Lightroom to run?

HELP Adobe, I still can't install Lightroom and get it working.  Please HELP.

When I try to install Lightroom Classic from the web, it tells me my laptop doesn't meet the system requirements.  It's an Intel I7 processor, with 8GB of RAM, a 1 TB HD, running Windows 7 (not without SP 1, since this would never install).

Is there a phone number I can call for support?

Its frustrating that LR 2015 worked previously on this laptop, but when I didn't have support for my Nikon D500 RAW files and tried to see if there was an upgrade (which there wasn't), I uninstalled and re-installed thinking that might solve the problem

URGH!!

Good morning Jeff, I ran the update readiness tool.  It ran for over 6 hours and then I did a shut down.  The shutdown took over 3 hours to install it's update.   Re-booted and ran the Windows 7 Service Pack 1  installation. I received the same error, 8007371B.

You would think that someone could look at the Service Pack 1 installation code (Speak to a developer) and determine what the installation encounters to produce this code.

While this is a backup PC I haven't used in about 2 years (My other one is in the shop needing a motherboard replacement, which I hope fixes the problem), I haven't been able to do any image editing in over 2 weeks.  It would be nice to use lightroom  on this computer.

As you may have noticed too, the Creative Cloud App doesn't give me the option to install LR Classic CC or the New LR CC.  I only get the option to install LR 2015.

Hi Jeff, and followers.  I paid to get my laptop upgraded to Windows 10....:-(  But that did solve my issue with getting Lightroom 2015 to work.  Just hated to have to spend another $120 to solve the problem.

Thanks for all your help.

So I might upgrade to Lightroom Classic CC, is it stable?

Thanks again for your help.
