Importing Elements 14 catalog into Lightroom CC 6 does not work on Mac.
Erro reported is 'unknonw error'
Elements and Lightroom installed on same Macbook with SSD HD
If I cannot convert my Elements Catalgo, I would loose alle the 'stacked' photos work, and all the tags, this would be a nightmare.
It means for me I have to stay on Elements

Yes, latest Update installed, both on elements and Lightroom.
Tx for answering, your book is the reason I am moving to Lightroom :-)

Aw, thanks JJ. Let's hope we can get this import working for you then! If not, writing the metadata to XMP would be a backup plan.
If you open your Elements Catalog, are all of the photos available for editing (none missing)? How many photos in there?

Hi there,
Yes all Photos visible there are around 11k, all tagged, non missing.
I tried to remove the videos because I read the codecs could have an influence.
I moved the catalog on the same HD than Lightroom to avoid any issue with Networked catalog (also the pictures are on a network disk)
I upgraded vom windows to Elements Mac before trying the import.
The catalog is showing up in the import dialog, I get the correct 'progress bars' until the end when I get the message 'lightroom could not import because of an unknown erros'
I tried to create a new catalog in Elements, and to import it, it worked fine ...
I have already copie all metadata onto the files itself, but if I import them 'as is' I will get multiple versions of the pictures, as Elements makes a copy of the original file and saves the edited one as 'edited'

Sorry I missed your reply. No other bright ideas on this one I'm afraid, but I'll try to flag it up for an engineer.

Hi JJ, Are all the images displayed in your Elements on Mac? If so, try repairing(Manage catalogs->Repair) your catalog in PSE(on Mac) and then import it to Lr. Let me know if this works.

Hi Sandeep
tx was able to download it.
I can open it as a catalog, but I cannot import it into an existign catalog, I get an error when doing this, like when I was importing the elements catalog
It also looks like all Metadata is lost in Lightroom
Any hint ?

Not all Metadata, looks like Caption is still there, but Keywords are lost
