Lightroom CC: albums and folders are not syncing

I use Lightroom CC on MacBook, on iPhone and on the web. Photos are syncing without problems ("All photos"), but Albums and Folders aren't at all.

If I create an album on the iPhone, it will be synced back to the web, but NOT to the MacBook. If I rename the created album on the iPhone, noting append on the web; and so on...

What is the problem?

Are you really using Lightroom CC on the MacBook, or are you perhaps using Lightroom Classic CC? New albums will sync as collections to Lr Classic, and end up inside the ‘From Mobile’ collection set. Folders do not sync.

On the MacBook I'm using Lightroom CC 1.5. I never used Lightroom Classic CC.

In that case everything should sync just fine. Are you sure you are logged into your account in the CC app in your menubar?

That is very strange. Because everything is stored online, you should see identical libraries on all devices. What happens if you try the other way round (create an album in Lightroom CC on the MacBook)?

Simon,

Any chance you could show us a screen shot from both areas showing the Album present and then not present?

For those who are experiencing that all of the images appear to be syncing but the respective albums do not, we need more information from you.

If you go to Lightroom CC Preferences and go to the Account tab and hold down your [Alt/Opt] key. A button should appear saying [Full Report]. Generate the full report (it will be quite large). You will need to share this via some file sharing service (Creative Cloud shared folder or similar). Send the invitation to

Thanks for your help!

@RobC and @Simon - try syncing your Lightroom CC environment how and see if the albums come in now.

Didier,

When you say "My albums on my iMac are not syncing completely" what does that mean? Where is the complete group of albums?  On your i Mac or on another device?  We need to know which device has the full set and which device doesn't.

On the iMac there is the complete group of albums. On the web https://lightroom.adobe.com/ there are only a few albums. And some of the albums are there, but doesn't contain the whole amount of pictures. Only 3 instead of 65 pics for an example. But the whole pic syncronization was successful. Only albums are not syncing correctly.

Didier,

Just to check the box... If you click on the Cloud icon upper right does it say you are Synced and Backed up?

All of the pictures have the blue check mark and are synced correctly as you see. But only 3 pics are syncing to the album.

Thanks for the information, Didier.

One of our engineers would like to get a report from your Lightroom CC system.
Go to Preferences>Account and hold down the [Opt] key
A button for Mini-report should appear.

I am actually running into this issue on Windows 10 and Android Lightroom CC Classic 8.1. Created new collection set and added 1 collection to it. The Collection set (Album) is not showing on the Android App (older ones are there). I even tried deleting and recreating hte collection set and collection with no luck. I could see the collection (although 1 photo wouldn't sync). Recreating the collection allowed me to get all the photos to sync but again the collection set was not syncing with Lightroom Mobile on Android (latest update).

Separate Issue - OP was Lightroom CC - This issue is Lightroom Classic CC

Please reference the new conversation here: Lightroom Classic CC to Android - Collection sets not syncing.

Was there a resolution to this? I have the same issue with classic CC running on MAC and iPhone.

This thread is about Lightroom CC - not Lightroom Classic.

You might want to start a new thread with additional information - Version Numbers fo Lightroom Classic, Lightroom mobile, OSx, etc. Screenshots of what isn't syncing would be great too.
