Lightroom CC: Ability to update EXIF data

Hi there,

There's a feature request for Lightroom Classic along these lines, but I can't see one for Lightroom CC. I also know there's an existing feature request for updating IPTC data... but I'm actually talking about EXIF data here not IPTC.

There are a few scenarios where it would be handy to be able to update/create EXIF data when it's not present, such as:

  • Photo taken with a lens which does not electronically communicate with the camera body to share its name (and in some cases even the settings used) - such as some aftermarket lenses by the likes of Rokinon/Samyang
  • Old digital photos which may be missing their EXIF data for whatever reason but you still know what camera was used
  • Scanned photos - whilst it's definitely handy to have the scanner details, many may prefer the camera details
In an ideal world you'd also be able to explore all EXIF data available for an image - not just a limited predefined set of fields.

Here's an example of the first point. A photo taken with the Rokinon SP 14mm f/2.4 with Canon EF mount. You'll note there's no lens name, and obviously no way to add it (click the image to see a larger version):

And here's an [old, terribly scanned APS] example of the third point (again, click the image to see a larger version):
