Some people are reporting they're still getting 2015.2.1 from the CC updater. It takes a little time to push the updates around the world, doesn't it Pete?

It can, although if you sign out and sign back into the Creative Cloud app should force it to update: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud...

I have installed the update. Everything seems to be working fine EXCEPT I still have a problem with the slideshow. If I try to run a slideshow or even preview it Lightroom will crash completely. I don't know how to troubleshoot the problem. I was hoping it might be fixed in this update, but maybe it's just a problem with my computer.

Try updating your video driver. The slideshow feature requires the GPU to render. Go *directly to the manufacturers website (nVidia or ATI/AMD)* and download the latest driver.

Just doing Windows Update won't give you the latest and greatest drivers. You must go directly to your card manufacturers website to check for driver updates.

Thanks, but I don't have a special graphics card, just the Intel integrated graphics that is part of the motherboard. No GPU acceleration. So is that my problem, I need to install a graphics card?

Is your computer a desktop computer? If so, yes, that might help. but if you install a dedicated card, I would disable the Intel processor: https://helpx.stage.adobe.com/lightro...

Yes, this is a desktop computer. The slideshow used to work flawlessly. But that was probably before you introduce the GPU acceleration feature. Everything else in Lightroom works just fine. So I'll just stop worrying about it.

What if you disable the GPU accel in preferences > performance?

Tethering still not working on El Capitan for this latest release. Any idea when that's likely to be resolved?

Thanks Victoria. Just found this on Nikon's site from 5 days ago that they are "pleased to announce compatibility" with El Capitan for new installations only but it makes no mention of Lightroom. I guess we just have to be patient and hope! http://nikonasia-en.custhelp.com/app/...

For their tethering software, Camera Control Pro, I'm still seeing an incompatible listing on that page. And even when they update their SDK, it'll take Adobe a bit of time to update Lightroom to match. Other software like Sofortbild is having the same problem unfortunately.

Smartshooter3 is working however. Use autoimport in LightRoom to import the photos from the folder where Smartshooter puts them, and you will be shooting almost thethered into LR

Thanks for the suggestion Uffe. Granted, that's one possible option, but it'll cost me another €40 on top of what I currently pay Adobe to get something that worked a month ago working again today.

I know, and I had the same thoughts, but Smartshooter is actually a very nice solution. Has ability to run scripts for focus stacking etc, and lets you keep the photos on the camera card as well as on your computer, so I'll be using that even when Nikon fixes things

I just ran the update and imported the photos I took today. I followed my usual workflow and had no issues AT ALL! It also appears to be faster than before, but that could be due to my just cleaning up disk space on my mac.

THANK YOU, Adobe, for listening to us. You have restored my confidence in your product.

Video no longer plays in the Library mode - the button strip to play them is gone! In grid mode, moving the mouse across the file makes the time / frame advance.

Nvidia latest drivers 3.58 installed on Win10 system. LR 5.7 video plays just fine.

This is a great conversation that's separate from the main one, so I created a new conversation to continue the discussion.

I waited 3 months to update to 6.3 only to find I can no longer view videos.  Adobe's incompetence and lack of support is unforgivable.

I installed from the .exe patch download as recommended in blogs by Victoria Bampton and Laura Shoe.
All went very well. Lightroom now seems 100%, and faster on both my desktop and laptop.
Thanks Adobe for listening to your customers.

I rolled back from 2015.2.1 because the lightroom task would not terminate when shut down.
Has this bug been fixed? The journal article does not say it has been recognised and fixed.
I don't want to have to go to the trouble of rolling back again if that bug is still there.

Hi, I have installed Lightroom 6 desk top version to my Windows 10 PC. Updates should now come via Creative Cloud. For some reason my Creative Cloud do not work properly. It notifies me that Lightroom 6.3 is available, but when I click download button I get error message. This is so annoying. I want the old desktop updating system back. This Creative Cloud has fight back from the beginning. What a crap of a software this is! I was very pleased using Lightroom for years and now this crap do not allow me to do updates!

That looks like the Creative Cloud application is trying to install and new update for itself that came out today. Try restarting computer and launch Creative Cloud. It should update. Then install the LR update.

Hi, today I start my computer and tried to update Creative Cloud. I launched it and it showed that there is update available. When I clicked the "Update"-button, I get the same error message as when updating Lightroom previously. This is so sad. I want Lightroom, not Creative Cloud. I have payed from Lightroom.

To get along I will try next this:

"“We’ve encountered the following issues: Creative Cloud desktop failed to install.“. Seriously? Why did it fail? What should I do to fix it?

I’ve tried rebooting, killing irrelevant processes, running Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (which requires you uninstall ALL CC applications and subsequently installing them again wasting hours), changing registry records, deleting the AAMUpdater file, renaming the OOBE folder and just about anything else I could read on the net.

Sometimes it worked on some of the computers but never on all of them. The funny thing is that all 5 computers are the same make and brand, running the same OS, installed on the same day and all running the same applications. So why would it work on two of the computer but not the remaining three. Beats me..

Solution to the Creative Cloud Desktop failed to install problem:

Anyways I have found a solution that has worked consistently on all five computers for the last two updates. Whenever a Creative Cloud update is available I always try and install it normally first just to see if the problem is fixed (which it isn’t). When that fails we reboot the computer and start it up in Safe Mode with Networking. Then I open the Creative Cloud application from the program list and it updates without any problems what so ever. Once it’s done just reboot your computer again and your Creative Cloud Desktop is updated without any problems.

Oh no, the reboot in Safe mode with networking did not help. I get the same error message and so the Creative Cloud update would not start and so I can not update my Lightroom 6.2.1 to newest version. Argh! Smells like Microsoft!

I'm not using the CC version as I did not want to take on Photoshop. Sounds like both LR versions are struggling. We should not be doing open heart surgery to get an update running. I use Macs to avoid this type of experience and generally do, but consistently struggle with Adobe releases.

My 6.2.1 keeps saying it is up to date, and it is still suffering the crippled and time consuming import process.

I had the same problems with CC desktop so I disabled it, and used the direct update listed here:

http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjourn...

If you scroll down to the Installation instructions, immediately below the list of fixed bugs, you can download the 6.3 patch as a Setup file. Run it and it will update to 6.3. Simple!! ;) Windows and Mac versions available there.

Many thanks Bob, this direct link to 6.3 updatefile (or 6.3 patch) worked flawlessly on my Windows 10 PC. Really great! Now my Lightroom also starts without any extra hocus pocus. So I did not need to use hopeless Creative Cloud at all. Super!

Thanks Bob, I did all that, and the install/upgrade consistently throws an error code, Error Code: U44M2P28. I posted the code, no one seems to know what it is which is really annoying. I Google it, I am not alone, many people hit this code using different configs than mine, and a rebuild has not worked for them.

No definitive solutions are offered, only large scale, riskier science projects, everyone points me to the same download site I used several times, everyone recommends deleting my install (that is a long effort fraught with risks) and reinstalling some older version (no definitive answer to which version) and zero assurances of issues or success. No answer from Adobe, all replies seem to be suggestions from the masses and these folks are under the impression that major rebuild projects that risk your catalog and cost a day or productive time are acceptable, no way!

I'm using a one year old iMac 27 Retina with 24GB on board, all stock, running Yosemite, with 'off the shelf' apps like MS Office and one or two other Apple apps.

This should not be a mystery. I'm also baffled as to the new import interface, the thing gives me a spinning circle as it indexes my entire Drobo, I never asked it to, and every other device on the system, only then will it let me select the obvious SD card... LR is unusable and the patch to undo the damage is broken.

I'm starting to look at a new workflow with a basic DAM capability from someone else, and a separate editor. The Lightroom approach is great, hate the circa 1995 GUI, but once I figured it out, it works fine, untilI hit an upgrade. This is not the first time, and I cannot afford to use the product.

A simple Google shows that U44M2P28 means "Update Not Applicable"

On its face this means that the updates are being performed out of order including without a previous version in place, so uninstalling LR, installing LR 6.0 then installing LR 6.3 should work.

LR 6.0 is found here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/...

LR 6.3 is found at your earlier blog link:

I've seen people making positive comments about the eject being returned on a Mac, but have a Windows PC so can't verify this for myself.

2015.3 of course. The old interface is back, with the exception of the eject after import function.

You must select an Item under Devices - not Files in the Source Panel. Eject only shows up when you have an ejectable device selected.

I am seeing the checkbox in LR 6.3 on my Windows 10:

A comment on the LR 6.3 Blog announcement suggests that the Auto Eject on Windows 7 doesn't occur when an import is cancelled but does work when the import completes normally.

I see other comments about the checkbox not being there, so maybe those are from Mac people and it hasn't been restored, or maybe not on El Capitan or something.

Is the checkbox not there or is it there but not working on your Mac?
