Lightroom CC 2015.2 Crashing on Export and Writing Changes to XMP and Synchronizing Meta Data

Running OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I tried to export a folder of images from LR to a folder on my desktop. Tried exporting at full res JPEG and compressed jpeg. Also tried changing the destination folder. Lightroom starts exporting, sometimes it gets a few files exported, then it crashes.

Since this wasn't working I thought maybe I could get it to export out of Bridge. I tried changing the catalog settings in LR to write changes to XMP so I could maintain my adjustments and ratings in bridge. LR crashes immediately after checking the Write Changes to XMP check box. I had to restart LR and quickly go uncheck Write to XMP or it would crash again after restarting.

I've tried restarting my computer and uninstalling and reinstalling LR. Nothing seems to be working.

Now I'm trying to export directly from LR to my Zenfolio account. That seems to be working so far. It might work with Flickr export too.

Hi Mark,

Try this:
1. Start Lightroom
2. Go to LIghtroom > Preferences
3. On the General tab, uncheck "Show 'Add Photos' screen"
4. Try your export again.

Post back and let us know if that resolved the crash.

Thanks,
Becky

Well it worked for exporting. It's still crashing when I check "Automatically Write Changes to XMP."

Thanks for the update Mark. We'll take a look at Automatically write to XMP.

Hi Mark,

The crash on export, and while auto-writing XMP should both now be fixed in Lightroom 6.2.1. Please let me know if you still have trouble.

Thanks,
Ben
