Lightroom CC 2015.2.1 on Windows 7 does not terminate when closed

Attention appears to have focused the import module change, however the main problem I had with 2015.2.1 was that the task would not terminate and therefore it was not possible to start again.
To use Lightroom a second time it was necessary to either reboot the PC or force termination via Task Manager.
The appeared a potentially disastrous issue as one cannot be sure the forced termination does leave a file or the catalog open and thus inducing a corrupt state.
Previous releases also leave various support tasks running and this may be related.
Can Adobe confirm this is a known problem and will be fixed in the next release?

I am experiencing the same issue with Windows 10. Having to kill the task also leads to the fact that changed settings are not saved.
