This is incorrect:
We have an issue where customers are unable to use the Develop module with GPU enabled.  This only occurs when using an AMD graphics card using driver Version 17.4.4 (released 4/23/2017) on Windows.
I had the problem prior 17.4.4 version (not 100% sure, but I had the 17.1.2 ver. driver then). I tried to solve the crashes by clean install the newest driver which was 17.4.4, but obviously it didn't solve anything.

Dear Rick,

Thanks for the response

So far i tried:
  1. Udating manualy via preferences > check for app updates
  2. Refresheshing the CC app via "Command+Option+R"
  3. Signing out an back in via preferences
  4. Removing the OPM.db file and signing back in again
  5. Unstalling the LR app and reïnstalling it again.
This is a problem that only affects the LR update since the Ps and Br apps didn't have this issue.

sincerly
Robin

If you are having issues seeing the update, go to your Creative Cloud Application and sign out (via the preferences). Wait 60 seconds and sign back in with your Adobe ID.

I know it's not the same topic but I didn't want to start new discussion. Is it possible that lightroom would be compatible with Nvidia gtx 1080 graphic cards?

Where are these performance fixes and GPU fixes you guys are "working" on? Seems like the only way to get any sort of response is to post everywhere we can....
