Lightroom: Catalogue out of sync with mobile and desktop

According to support chat, my catalogue is out of sync.  Meaning I have photos on mobile and web associated with my adobe id, but they are not syncing to my desktop.  In order to start that sync, I have to delete my catalogue and start over or I have to download all my photos to my local hard drive.  I take most of my photos with my phone and add them to Lightroom collections.  Whats the point of that if I cant sync down to my desktop in a proper manner

Is this the case, if so, that is truly sad.

Do you still have the catalog with which you originally synced your Adobe ID?

I am having the same problem.  I created a Collection on my iPad and it is showing up on the iPad and in Lightroom online, but not my desktop.  I am using the original catalog that is synced to my Adobe ID.  Do you have a suggestion?

I was able to locate an backup catalogue that allowed to any new collections to sync. I had to move old collections to new collections so they would sync.
With mobile photography growing adobe needs to find a way to fix this. I understand there are complex workflows for photographers and solutions may be complex. But still needs to figure this out.
