Lightroom: Cannot import elements 9 catalog

Having just installed Lightroom 6.6, the automatic import of my Elements 9 catalog failed.

I get an error "Lightroom could not import this catalog because of an unknown error" and when I hit OK it takes me back to the main Lightroom UI where it shows that it imported exactly 7000 photos including the star ratings for each, but not all 11,000+ photos and not with any of the keyword tags.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom, but it opens right back up with the previously partial import of the 7000 photos.  Then I tried doing a repair and optimize in Photoshop Elements and tried importing the catalog again in Lightroom and it fails again.

Any suggestions?  I'm not ready to lose all of my tags on 11,000 photos and the ratings and tags on the other 4,000+ photos that didn't import.

Hi David,

Sorry for the late reply. How big is the Elements catalog you're having trouble with? If I can get a copy, I can ask our engineering team to take a closer look. The other suggestion would be to first update the PSE 9 catalog to an Elements 14 catalog > Then import to Lightroom. (Obviously, make a back up of your PSE 9 catalog first).
