Lightroom/Bridge. Naming and locating files imported into LR catalog.

I am new to LR, used Bridge and PS for all editing. Now I want to use LR for importing, cataloging, and have begun to be very confused on how to save edited images and how to find them. Using a Mac previously I would go to pictures, find the folder and send them etc. Need to learn how to rename folders( would like to use my old method, year, month, day title but somehow I am not getting this right. Any help, references, YouTube video suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Many LR courses are available. Most important thing to understand with LR is that you do not need to save to a file. All edits you do are stored in the catalog. To produce a file you need to export to a file format like .tif or .jpg in the size you need. LR will then apply all your edits to the image at the size and file format you specified.

I used the training from Phil Steele Photography because it's directed at the main features a photographer needs in his workflow. But there are many many others. A Google search will turn out dozens of them.
