Lightroom: Auto-Tag Photos produces "Unexpected error"

When Map > Tracklog > Auto-Tag Photos is invoked with no photos selected, it produces the following error:

"Unexpected error performing command:
AgCommand.performCommandID could not perform command:
ag.location.applyTracklog (Command was disabled)"

I think the problem is that menu item isn't properly disabled (greyed out) when no photos are selected. (The corresponding menu item in the GPS Tracklogs menu button -- the sideways lightning bolt -- at the bottom of the map view does properly disable when no photos are selected.)

See here for 3 users who got confused by this: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1459922

Tested on LR 2015.0.1 / Windows 8.1

I too have this problem is importing the GPS the information is greyed out but if you hi light the field name to can click and bring it into view. A useless solution when you have hundreds of photos.

It needs the bug fixed ASAP

This bug still exists in LR CC 2015.5 / Windows 10.  It doesn't occur for me on LR 2015.5 / OS X 10.11.4.

This error message still exists in LR 6.8 [1099473] (2016.2) / Windows 10 / x64 when invoking Map > Tracklog > Auto-Tag Photos in the Menue at the top, even when photos in strip are selected.

The alternativ way by using > Auto-Tag [n] Photos in the toolbar menue at the bottom of the Map  works well and trusty. [n] will automaticly be set as the number of photos you ́ve selected bevore in the photo-strip. I tested by n=70 selected photos.
