Lightroom: Applies changes to externally edited files automatically on re-import

I noticed that since version 2015.3 LR seems to apply certain development actions automatically to images that i've sent to PS and then saved there.

In my case the edits are always the same:
- slight increase in shadows
- increase in yellow saturation
- slight vignette

Steps to reproduce:
1. choose "edit in PS"
2. do changes in PS and save
3. watch the re-imported tiff file in LR

This seems really weird... Is it just me?

Hi Nico,

My guess is that you are set up to apply Develop settings at import. If you go to the Import dialog, on the right side, under "Apply During Import", is there something selected for Develop Settings?

Unfortunately these fresh files coming from PS go thru the same import pipeline and get the same treatment.

Hi July,

You are right. I usually do "enable profile corrections" and "remove chromatic aberrations" on import. But this never resulted in visible slider adjustments under development.

The weirdest thing is: I can't even remove those settings by double clicking the sliders. These settings seem to be the default values for my image.

That just means you've saved non-zeroed customized defaults for non-raw images.

The solution would be to reset the customized defaults when you have the non-raw image open.

I don't remember if there is a reset to factory defaults for each image type or if you just have to adjust things to be zeroed and then save those as new customized defaults for the image type you have open.
