When selecting enable profile corrections in Lightroom it applies the sigma 24-70 profile to picture taken with Tamron 24-70. The lens is clearly visible in the metadata. The body used is Canon 6d

Thank you for the sample image.

After some investigation, this is indeed a case where there isn't enough reliable EXIF data to determine whether a Tamron or SIGMA 24-70mm lens is mounted on the Canon body. The Lens ID space "137" is already fairly crowded, and these lenses have identical EXIF characteristics including the shared Lens ID.

The best workaround is the one suggested above (thank you) to set a lens profile default that provides the lens make "Tamron" hint to the profile lookup algorithm.

Regards,

- Chris
