Lightroom 6: Text added to slideshows blurry even when Quality setting is "High"

Any text I have added to be displayed with images in a slideshow (using the "ABC" button in the Slideshow module toolbar) is blurry when play the slideshow in Lightroom 6.0, even when the slideshow Quality setting is "High."

It looks like the text is being upscaled from a lower resolution, as opposed to being rendered at the screen's native resolution.

I can perhaps understand doing that when the quality setting is "Low" or "Standard" - when the image itself is being displayed at a lower resolution - but when the image is being shown at a higher resolution via the "High" quality setting, it seems like the text should be as well.

This is a regression from Lightroom 5.x.

Disabling/enabling "Use Graphics Processor" did not make a difference.

I'm using Lightroom 6.0 on a Mac Pro (Mid-2012) running Mac OS X 10.9.5. My monitor's resolution is set to 2560 x 1600 (Apple 30" Cinema Display).

Please let me know if I can provide further information. Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem.
Appeared after upgrade from LR 5.7 to LR 6.
No hardware, firmware or driver updates done.
Also tried the "high" setting, no help.
Texts are not of primary interest but low-quality photo rendering makes this unusable for my purposes.

(Win 8.1, 64-bit (LR also), Geforce GTX 960, Samsung 2560x1440px)

I want to be clear that with the "High" quality setting, I do not see a problem with the image quality - it is identical to the image quality in Lightroom 5.7 slideshows. (Yes, I took screenshots and compared.) It's just that the text is not rendering in high quality with the "High" quality setting.

A more serious problem is that Lightroom resets the quality setting to "Standard" every time you quit and restart - resulting in blurry images in a slideshow unless you remember to re-set the quality setting back to "High" every time. I filed a separate report about that here:

But there's nothing one can do to fix the sub-standard appearance of text with the "High" quality setting.
