Lightroom 6 Misssing Performance tab

I installed LR6 and found the performance tab (Edit Preferences) was there and the GPU was checked. All OK.

Then I installed a new graphics card and now the Performance tab is missing.

Replaced an EVGA 650Ti with an EVGA 970 SC card

Thanx

If you reset your Lightroom Preferences does it come back?

Close Lightroom
Hold down [Shift][Alt/Opt] and Launch Lightroom
Accept the preferences dialog.

Wow!!!!! It worked thank you.

BUT: I lost my recent import and all my edits. Yikes! I have not shut down LR yet, is there a way I can get them back? I should have ran the backup I guess as I only do it weekly when prompted.

I will not shut down LR and wait for your response. Thanx.

Peace

That is Odd.

First suspicion, you haven't opened your same catalog as you thought you had. Is it possible you opened a copy of the catalog that was made before that import and those edits?

Thanx for your help. When I opened LR6 as you noted, I was asked to open a catalog. I saw three catalogs, one was named "wedding", the other was a LR 5 catalog and the other named "Lightroom Catalog" - opened this one.

I still have LR6 open and have not done anything (I had about 6 hours of editing yesterday!). In my backup folder, the last one was from the Friday the 24th; I did my editing yesterday the 25th.

Here is a screenshot of what is in my Lightroom folder now:

Your Lightroom 6 catalog should be named xxxxxx-2 and I don't see that in your list. Did you rename your Lightroom 5 catalog after upgrading it to LR 6?

I didn't rename anything. I just downloaded and installed the LR6 upgrade. The install did whatever it did. When it came up for the first time, it picked up right where I left off in LR5... seamless.

When I started LR6 this morning given your instructions, I was presented with a choose catalog dialog and I picked the plain "Lightroom Catalog". To be honest, I am not sure exactly what it was, but it was the obvious choice as one was from a wedding and the other was a LR5 cat.

Again, I still have this thing open and hoping you can help me. What I will do now, I copy this catalogs into another folder as a snapshop of what is there now.

Again, thanx Rikk for you help.

If you can locate an image that you know you've worked on and the work is missing, what does it say in the history panel?

If it is missing your edit history, I suspect still this isn't the right catalog.

Try Searching your system for

*-2.LRCAT
I suspect that has your missing work, assuming I've understood your chain of events correctly.

One other issue..... very odd...... I see in my pic that the LR 5 catalog has a date modified date of 4/26/2015 9:49. Why was this updated when I upgraded to LR 6 the other day? Hmmmmmm........ I wonder if this catalog is my last one?

Thanx

Ok, you da man! (as we say in Philly). All is well with the world.

So here is what I did....

1. File, Open Catalog, and chose the LR 5 catalog as noted in the pic I posted.
2. Came up with with a dialog box about using a new catalog or the older 5 catalog, I chose the older.
3. Came up with a converting dialog box, I said yes, as it then showed the "-2.LRCAT" file you noted......
4. Showed some converting progress bar.......
5. Bang, all is good.

Obviously, if you look at my pic, LR6 used the LR5 catalog, as the updated date for the LR 5 file was this morning. I have not changed the name of these catalogs, they are the defaults. Honestly, I don't remember any converting progress bar when I installed LR6 the other day. I appeared to be using the old LR 5 cat. When I started LR6 using your recommendations, it pulled an old backup catalog.. or something.... sheesh!

Anyway, all is good and I will create a backup. If all goes to crap, I still copied the folder you see in the pic to another place so I have a snapshot.

Thank you,
