I can not access my Lightroom 6 anymore.  An Adobe app pop-up box regarding a phone app blocks...then locks my Lightroom 6.   Have to turn off my computer each time I try to open Lightroom 6 for use.

Can someone assist with a problem that was created by Adobe's phone app (pop-up) blocking my Lightroom 6 usage?   I can not remove this Adobe hindrance that stops Lightroom 6 from working.  Lightroom 6 now 'locks'...and will not function due to this Adobe product license request that I've never used and do not want this app for my phone (to connect) with Lightroom.

Thank you Mr. Ellis... I do not know how this will work.. since my Lightroom efforts with this app box Locks my computer use.  I have to turn it off after trying to open Lightroom?   Taking a screen shot is not likely something I can do once I try to open my LR 6.    I can try..but not likely it can be done?  Jack

On Mac, type Shift + Cmd + 3 to save a screenshot in your Desktop folder.

On Windows: "Users with a Windows 10 or Windows 8 machine have the added ability to take screenshots that automatically save to a special folder. Pressing both the Windows and Print Screen key at the same time will capture the entire screen. This image will automatically be saved to a Screenshot folder inside of the Pictures library."

If these don't work, take a pic of your entire screen with your camera or cell phone, and then upload it here with the camera icon:

Months ago when I first saw this box on my computer.they were telling me that my trial had expired. I never ordered this trial..as I would never ever use it at any point. Now it started coming back..and eventually could not be closed.  At one point yesterday or the day before.. we tried to follow through with thinking it would go away if we accessed it... as it would not give us any options to reject the use of it.   We simply may have made it worse by trying to remove it(by agreeing to use it)??  but I guess they wanted us 'likely' to purchase CC?  I have no idea what is going on... It always locks my Lightroom 6..and it (no longer) ever opens anymore.. Computer will not shut down anymore.. One has to turn off the computer at the switch or unplug it to use the computer again?   Thank you for trying to assist?    I'm sort of out-of-business due to Adobe's app or what ever this hindrance is?  Jack

I think with your screenshot and additional detail, someone else will be able to help soon.  (I'm not intimately familiar with these issues.)

You should click License this Software and re-enter your LR 6 serial number.

The situation is likely occurring because the licensing information on your computer is not accessible or has become corrupted.  If you re-enter your LR 6 serial number what happens?

The app box (blocked each attempted entry to Lightroom 6.   It would no longer open. Eventually I got the app box to close..Lightroom could then be opened. But it would never again work..... It locked my computer each time.. would never completely open again..... I could not shut down my computer. The only way to get it to close and thus escape from the Lightroom 6 blocking the use of my computer....I could only turn off the switch to get the locked Lightroom 6 out of the way.   Days went by with this blockage... Never again would LR open and function again..  LR 6 would only open that little 'box' to connect my phone with LR...   My use of LR was completely taken away... no efforts to get it to work again were available that I could find 10 years with Adobe products ..... but no help was any longer available ..Calls were no longer available, and chat was now off limits... You guys were all that was left.   They seemingly only help the profitable customers.   10 years of using their products is of no value to them.    I gave up..they won..as I mentioned.  It was an easy fix when I made my payment.

The popup you were getting means that LR was not licensed on your computer, and had reverted to trial mode.

Did you have a LR 6 serial number?  Did you enter it?

Hi Steve.. did not write in a serial number since I have used LR 6 ever since this upgrade became available.   Guess I use it a few hundred hours each month..all through the year.  No changes were made to anything except this app blocking the opening of LR 6.   It had popped up a few dozen times over the months.. but this time it would not close 'until it had altered the function of LR 6.  No longer would LR open except the first page(but all the images would no longer open).  I would have never thought to add a serial number to something that I have used ever day since it was available to use ... Guess it was earlier in 2015 or sometime in 2014.  Can't recall?   Used it every day until this app pop up changed everything?

The popup you received was LR asking you to verify its licensing information.  If you had a LR 6 serial number then you could have entered that.  Since the question has been asked several times and you've yet to say you have it, I assume you've been using someone else's copy of LR 6 that happened to be licensed by them and you have no way to look up and enter the serial number, yourself.  As such, your buying a CC license seems like the best course.

Thanks for staying with me on this issue Steve.. Never had any consideration for using my LR 6 serial number.  Always 'just' wantng this box to go away as it use to do for the previous months.  Assuming this app was already paid for with my LR 6.....I went ahead and downloaded the access to it..but nothing seemed to change the obstruction.  Used my own Adobe products for about 10 years or more.  I did try to get assistance from a phone call or chat, but finally saw that it was no longer something they allowed.  At least after agreeing to pay them monthly I may likely have access again to technical support if needed.  Thanks for all your efforts and considerations. Greatly appreciated.
