Lightroom 6 HDR issue

I've just been testing out the new HDR feature in Lightroom 6. I've used several sets of 5 images, each taken at +/- 2/3. I've adjusted the resulting DNG file, to my taste - if I then paste these setting onto the middle, correctly exposed RAW file, the results look identical to me. I seem to have gained nothing at all with the HDR image. Am I missing something obvious here?

The HDR DNG has a lot more latitude for Adjustment as it contains far more data than your middle exposure.

Just try the Exposure slider on each - you will see the HDR DNG has a ± 10 Stop range and the regular DNG has ± 5 stops.

What it probably tells you more than anything is that your original scene wasn't that far outside of normal capture possibilities.

A reminder too: the new HDR only really needs two exposures - the brightest and the darkest of your five exposure set. Appreciable quality isn't gained by including all the additional intermediary files.
