Lightroom 6 Classic freezes at startup (win 10)

Lightroom has worked perfectly for more than six month. The other day Lightroom started freezing during startup, meaning that I cannot open Lightroom at all.

I have tried manually to disable the graphics processer in the lightroom preferences and disabling the graphic cards as recommended, nothing helped.

I have a suspicion that it is a resent Windows update that is causing the issue, but I am not sure.

Any help is highly appreciated!

I don’t think there’s a LIghtroom 6 Classic. Please share your correct version, along with the rest of your system spec so someone can offer suggestions.

Also, which specific Windows 10 update you are on. Thanks.

Thanks for your input. Windows version is Windows 10 Version 1803 and Lightroom is 6.0

Hope that someone can give a hint of what the reason for the issue is.

Thank you in advance!

Lightroom 6.0 is very old. The latest version of Lightroom 6 is 6.14. Updating to 6.14 would probably help.

You can verify your installed version via Help>System Info...

Thanks for the reply Rikk.

Is it possible to upgrade Lightroom without running the program (as I cannot start it)? And where do I find the latest version of Lightroom?

Thank you in advance!
