Lightroom 6: Blotchy rendering of shadow area in Library/Develop, exports fine

Recently started working on an old catalog (upgraded from LR5), which to the best of my knowledge was problem-free in the past.

Some of the photos are displayed on the UI with funny blotches in color transition areas, or shadow areas (think lit/in-lit area of people's neck)

Below is an example of LR's interface, notice the flowers in background look like purple blobs with color fringes.

However, the corresponding export looks totally normal.

The file is RAW from a Canon 7D. I have tried removing and regenerating the standard and 1:1 previews to no avail. This is the first time I have notice this problem in LR; unfortunately I no longer have LR 5 to load the file up again.

The corresponding export looks totally normal... in what program?

We've frequently seen odd problems like this with specific monitor profiles, especially LUT based profiles.

Thanks! That nailed it.

I have applied a monitor profile created with DisplayCal. Now that I reverted it back to manufacturer's ICC profile, things look right again.
