Please can you help. I want to update to Lightroom 6.10 from 6.0, as it will not import pictures and i wondered if updating would help. Using help/updates takes me to creative cloud update ( installed a creative cloud trial and now cannot uninstall it as it says there are apps still requiring cc) I am running os 10.11 and a standalone version of lightroom 6, please can you help.

Windows or mac? Are you trying to uninstall Lightroom CC or the Creative Cloud app? You can uninstall Lightroom CC first, then uninstall Creative Cloud app.

You can download and install most recent versions of Lightroom from https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-downloads.html.

I am running as I said mac os 10.11 and a standalone version of Lightroom 6. I am having problems importing pictures from cards. I read that updating to 6.10 might solve this. When I try this ( help/updates) it only wants me to update Lightroom cc which I don't have. So I can't update.
I also was running a creative cloud app to try photoshop cc, and am now trying to uninstall creative cloud app, but am getting the message that it is unable to uninstall the app as there are other apps needing it, but I have uninstalled photoshop cc. Does this make sense? Sorry I'm maybe not explaining my problem well.

Lightroom CC and Lightroom 6 are the same software with different licensing methods which expose more or less of the functions in the interface.  As long as you have your serial number for the perpetual version entered, you are using the perpetual version.  You may be seeing a trial dialog because Adobe, from time to time, will reset the trial, giving you access temporarily to the Creative Cloud - enabled features. The trial message should go away after seven days and you will revert to your perpetually-licensed product.

Thank you Rikk, I have finally managed to update to 6.10, even though it said it was updating cc. This however has not sorted the import from card issue, so at the moment I will have to transfer them to the hard drive first and hopefully import from there . Thanks for your reply, I have just found this forum, which is great.
