For anyone doing a catalog import - here is a solution that worked for me, but your experience may be different.

Importing a catalog from my laptop to my home machine had problems.
I had the catalog and photos on the laptop in the same folder, then copied this folder structure to it's permanent location on my home machine, but on an externally mounted drive.

Choosing "File/import from another catalog" while holding down the option key allowed me to choose the folders that I wanted to import and not move the photos, but leave them where I had copied them to. These are choices in the dialogue box that comes up.

After the import Lightroom did not update the folder list in the library. My photo folders are on an external drive, not internal. I had to go to the grid view in Library module and right click on a photo and select "go to folder in library" which then forced the Folders view to update with the current folder "2015", but it only shows the current folder and not the parent which should be Maui/2015. Also it shows this folder under the internal drive and not the external drive.
I then had to right click on the 2015 folder and choose update folder location. I chose the Maui folder from the file dialogue and the let it find the
This then forced it to list the correct folder structure under the right drive.

I just noticed that my home machine was only version 6.2 and not 6.2.1.

Not sure if Adobe fixed this in the newer version.

If it worked in prior versions, I'd recommend that you roll back to the prior 6.1.1 update until things are reverted and corrected: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/...
