Lightroom 5 or CC - Aperture import stops at the same point each time

I'm new to Lightroom and I've tried to import the smallest of my three Aperture libraries to either Lightroom 5 or Lightroom CC (which I just installed today). In both cases, the import process stopped at exactly 48% -- photo 6,131 of about 11,000 photos -- and it stayed there for at least 10 hours (before I gave up).

I'm guessing there's something wrong with a particular image or video file, but I have no idea how to track it down. They don't seem to import in an order I'd expect -- in other words, I can see some of my newest and some of my oldest photos were imported successfully, so it must be somewhere in the middle.

Any ideas?

FYI - I tried this a third time with one change -- I went into Options (in the import dialog) and told it to leave referenced files in the current location. I didn't think I had any referenced files in my Aperture library, but maybe I did. Either the third time was a charm, or this option change made the difference. I now have all my photos migrated to Lightroom, except for a couple of BMPs and GIFs that are not supported.
