Lightroom 5 crashes during import with unhandled exception in ui.dll

When importing a large number of photos, Lightroom 5 crashes with an unhandled exception in ui.dll. Nothing else was happening on the system at the time; I kicked off the import and then left for the night. When I came in in the morning the application had crashed.

I've attached a screen shot showing some details about where the exception was thrown. The source photos are stored on one NAS device with the destination being on another. Connectivity is gig Ethernet. There are over 100,000 photos to be imported. The tmp and temp environment variables point to a directory on a locally connected SSD and the catalogue is on drive C:.
