Lightroom Desktop 3.3: Photos won't import, Library won't sync

After updating to Lightroom 3.3, I am experiencing the following issues:

Issue 1

- Unable to import new photos from SD cards or from my iPhone, or from my computer's desktop. Lightroom keeps saying "Checking free space on disk" but nothing happens. (There is plenty of space external Western Digital Hard Disk where photos are stored)

Issue 2

- Unable to sync my existing library in the cloud. Lightroom keeps saying "Cloud Storage - Unable to connect to network". (There is nothing wrong with my internet connection and there is plenty of space in my Adobe Cloud storage)

I am running Mac OS Catalina (10.15.5)

I have already tried the following:

- Uninstalled Lightroom
- Performed PRAM reset on my mac
- Performed SMC reset on my mac
- Reinstalled Lightroom

Both issues persist.

Any suggestions?

Is your originals location on a NAS by any chance?

No, it's not a NAS, it's Western Digital My Password external hard drive (connected to the mac's thunderbolt port).
I have uninstalled Lightroom 3.3 and installed 3.2 - and all working fine.
This is a bug in Lightroom 3.3. I hope Adobe fixes this. I have turned-off auto-update.

You don't mention resetting your preference file. That is a good next step.

A Preference File will survive a Lightroom uninstall/reinstall. Sometimes weird behavior is corrected/cured by resetting the preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Does the issues continue after resetting the preferences?

That made my problem worse. No connection at all now.

Now that preferences have been reset, the next step is a clean reinstall:

Clean Lightroom Install Procedure

Close Lightroom
Restart the computer
Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom
Restart the computer
Install Lightroom via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.
Restart the computer
Launch Lightroom
Wait 5 minutes
