Lightroom 2015.x not displaying that it is on the latest version - though it actually is!

My Mac version of Lightroom CC shows as 2015.10 release build 1111918 (About Lightroom),
but as far as I can gather the latest version 2015.4 is running as I appear to have the features.

I spent a lot of time trying to get it to update to this version because of this.

Afraid I'm not understanding.

If the About dialog is showing that you're running 2015.10 (the latest release), why do you think you're running 2015.4 (a release from January 2016)?

it was a misunderstanding. My other installation was 2015.2.1 - I didn't reliase that 2015.10 was newer (I read it as 2015.1.0)

Perhaps the numbering is causing confusion -- it's not mathematical decimal notation.  2015.10 should be interpreted as Major Version = 2015, Minor Version = 10 (not 1).  Thus 2015.10 is newer than 2015.4.

Understood!
Why haven't Adobe used a 2017 date to help allay this confusion?

In their current marketing scheme, 2015 indicates the "major version", the release with major new features.  Other Creative Cloud apps have moved to 2017 with major releases, but LR hasn't moved yet.
