Lightroom 2015 CC function "Edit In Photoshop 2015 CC" Not working correctly with RAW files

Using an iMac updated to latest OS X version and updates as per date of posting.
Adobe CC 2015 applications installed and updated to latest using the Creative Cloud App Manager.
External Editor configuration specifies TIFF as the export format.

Using "Edit In Photoshop CC 2015" from within Lightroom to edit a DNG file (though the same problem occurs with NEFs).

It opens Photoshop, but the image doesn't open at all.  Nothing.  Sometimes the splash screen, other times, just an empty window.

I do not get the usual "What to edit" dialog, that lets me choose a) a copy with lightroom edits, b) a copy, or c) original.

However, doing the same works for a TIFF image (including the aforementioned dialog box).

Any ideas?  Bug?  Misconfiguration?

Can you open the DNG/NEF directly in your Photoshop CC 2015? It is likely a Photoshop or a Adobe Camera Raw configuration issue. Is the expected version of Photoshop launched? What happens if you launch the Photoshop CC 2015 first before you start Edit in Photoshop CC 2015?

Can you post the Help>System Info... from both Photoshop and Lightroom?
