Once it has finished importing raw files and converting them to DNG it then hangs. The only option is to then kill it from the task manager and restart it, after which it is OK.

Rob,
Do you mean to say after restarting you were able to import and convert to DNG?
Or did Lightroom convert the images into DNG in the first attempt itself?

Thanks,
Sunil

Lightroom seems to convert the images to DNG successfully on the first attemp and then hangs. When I restart it the DNG files are there and I can carry on as normal.

After reinstalling Windows 10 with the latest updates (version 10.0.14393) this now seems to have fixed the problem.

I have been having the same problem with Lightroom CC on Windows 10. In my case, I'm importing RAW files from an SD card without DNG conversion. Immediately after the import successfully completes, I get a "Not Responding" message and I have to use Task Manager to kill Lr.

I'll add that I'm having the same issue immediately following a publish sequence to my SmugMug galleries using the SmugMug plugin. I pound the Lr pretty hard and can't make it happen any other time. Windows 10, Lr, and video drivers are all current and GPU box is unchecked.

Just returned from a trip and loaded the update.  I'm sorry to say that my problems (not responding errors after publishing to SmugMug and after import from an SD card) have not been fixed...

To confirm, did you install the CC 2015.6.1 update? It has a number if import fixes. http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2016/07/lightroom-cc-2015-6-1-now-available.html

Yes, the update is on-board.  The Lr freeze typically occurs after the import is complete and while standard previews are being rendered...
