Import from the CF card in a card reader with attached wav files, the wav file is ignored.

Copy the CF card to hard disk, and import from hard disk, the wav file is properly copied over.

This worked fine on 2015.1.1 (I think that's the right version number, the one 2 back from 2015.3); I've heard elsewhere it broke in 2015.2 or 2.1 (not sure).

This has worked for years and is a serious issue since THERE IS NO WARNING IT LOSES YOUR VOICE MEMOS, so you might reformat the CF card before noticing.

I should note that while I was specific about CF cards (because that's what I tested), I did not test the XQD card, nor did I test loading directly from the camera, so I do not know all the combinations in which this fails. But a CF card in a card reader loads the raw files successfully leaving the WAV file behind. I should note I did this with the prior version with the exact same card just to be sure there was no change.

Mac or Windows? I guess that you are on Mac. In that case, I could see it is possible some OS update has introduced the bug, especially that you have reported that it works if you copy the content to a hard disk folder. When Lr imports from the card directly, Lr replies on some OS API to tell us whether there is any sidecar (like the .wav file in your case) associated with each photo file. If that OS API wasn't able to enumerate to Lr that such sidecar file exists, then Lr does not know.

If the files are on the hard disk, Lr can find them ourselves. I am wondering if the bug is introduced via an OS update.

Sorry, Windows. I tested this in the following scenario when a friend said he had trouble (also windows).

Windows 8.1 with LR 2015.1.x (I think it was 1.1 but don't recall) -- worked
Upgraded to Windows 10 - worked
Upgraded to LR 2015.3 - failed

I used the same CF card (removing the files each time so there was no duplication) so as to be sure the circumstances were otherwise unchanged.

This is not an "OS Update", this is a bug introduced in the new versions of Lightroom, as there was no OS update that occurred between updating LR. I set up specifically to exclude such issues to reproduce this.

Try it?

I'll ask our QE to verify. Thanks for reporting.

I've also had this issue for quite some time. At least since I upgraded to Windows 10, but possibly before. It actually caused me some grief recently because I wiped a card after import without remembering that my voice notes didn't come over. I had to call a company and get their names again.

It's odd, because .mov files come over fine, as well as any photos, but .wav files, for some reason, are completely forgotten.

As others have said, they do import correctly if I copy my files over before importing, but that's a pain to do when they should certainly import the first time around.

It's happened across two separate formats/cameras/cards/readers. I had the issue on my D3 with CF card, and it's also continuing on my D5 with XQD.
