When using adjustment brushes, my screen will suddenly turn blue and the following message appears:  unexpected_kernel_mode_trap.   I've searched for an answer and have tried a clean boot, uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom, unchecked "use graphics processor" under preferences.  It's a tiny bit better, meaning I can edit a bit before it crashes, but it still happens.  I have a wedding to edit and I'm running out of time!! I'm going to have to switch to Photoshop for my precise adjustments, but it's not the same.

My issue seems to be resolved after deleting my preview cache.  But just in case, here is my System info :

A blue screen is either a driver bug or a hardware failure (or, VERY unlikely, a Windows bug).

What I would try, in order :

1) upgrade graphic card driver
2) check if system is not running too hot (https://camwebapp.com/)

If system is cool, drivers are up to date, it unfortunately sounds like a hardware issue.

Best at this point is to use/borrow another PC to finish your edits. If switching PC is not possible,

2) try with a spare graphic card (do not BUY one for this... it's just for debugging the issue)
3) replace RAM (same remark)

It could also be a faulty hard disk, but I am not sure if this may cause blue screens.

Hope this helps

I forgot to mention, that I had also updated all drivers too.  Last night, someone in a Lightoom FB group suggested that I delete my preview cache.  I did and my brushes now work better than ever!  Haven't used them today, so I have no idea if I am truly out of the woods yet ;)
