Every time I open an image and make a few adjustments with lighting effects I get a message that Photoshop has stopped working and after Windows checks to find out why (and can't correct the problem) Photoshop shuts down. I'm using 64-bit CS6 on a new Windows Ultimate computer

Hello, are your graphics drivers up to date? You can see their timestamp in help>system info. (and please post what graphic card you have, how many screens, etc.

I let NVIDIA search for driver updates and it found one. I installed it and restarted the computer and went to lighting effects and with one move of the effects tool and a preview check and got the same problem!

If Photoshop is shutting down there, it is most likely due to a bug in the video card driver. And NVidia puts out new drivers every month or so -- I'm glad you finally found an update.

The upgate doesn't work. I can move and resize the Lighting Effects tool but as soon as I select Preview it shuts the whole program down.
