Today I am trying to import photos that are copied onto my hard drive, and for some reason the Import process isn't working!
  1. Open Lightroom
  2. Click Import button
  3. Select the folder to import from
  4. Click Import button
When I click it, nothing happens. Same with the Cancel button. I can hit the Esc key to close the Import dialog, but that's it. It won't import from other folders, or from the camera either. I have photos due today! What can I do?!

Sorry for the trouble Adam. Which version of Lightroom are you working with?

Have you tried resetting Lightroom's preferences? blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/06/lightroom-basic-troubleshooting-to-fix-most-issues.html#Preferences

I just solved it by pure luck I guess... I undocked my laptop (unplugging all the various power and USB cables) and redocked it. After doing that, the import worked as normal. Really strange and the only time I have encountered this. Hopefully just a one-off!

Thanks for the update. Glad undocking/redocking seemed to fix it for you. Hopefully this suggestion may help others who may run into a similar situation.
