Lighroom Classic CC: Color label on missing folders

I like the new feature in Lightroom 7.4 to add a color label to folders. However, when a (color added) folder is missing there is no way to remove the color lable. Also there is no way for adding a color lable to folders that are missing. Am i missing something?

Currently (and in the past) my understanding is that off-line folders are locked from any editing. Renaming would be an example of an operation that should be performed while offline.  This color label behavior seems consistent with the past approach.

You can always request a feature to address this desired behavior change.

The thing is, Rikk, that here LR is not doing any OS level activity like renaming a folder, which has always been impossible if the folder is offline. So it is not setting the OS colour label, as it might do on Mac. It is purely setting a value in LR's catalogue and there is no technical reason why the label cannot be applied to folders which happen to be offline.

On a practical level, what if I am travelling with my entire catalogue, using smart previews to review and edit images? Why shouldn't I be able to mark a folder "green" to mean I have finished working on it, for example? I'm sure you can imagine other circumstances.

So I am unconvinced that it merits a feature request. The feature is implemented, just not properly.

John, I very much agree with your sentiment. I have 90% of my catalogue offline and I was excited to include these colour labels with my workflow, marking red, yellow and green to indicate the state of my workflow for each folder.

I don't organize a lot by collections bu tI understand it is the preferred approach so I was surprised not to see colour labels working with collections. Not a big deal for me but I bet it will be a request as well.

Very happy that Adobe continues to add new features to "Classic".

For the record, Thank you Adobe Lightroom Classic Team for implementing this feature - offline folder colours are now a thing!
