I just updated to El Capitan.  When I open Lightroom 6.5 I get an error message Lighroom catalog was not found, The catalog at location (/Users/xxxx/Pictures/Lightroom/Lightroom Catalog.lrcat) could not be found.  Would you like to locate an existing catalog or create a new one?

How do I fix this?

You'll need to find your catalog. Search for lrcat files.

Agreed with Vic on this. Not sure why you are having this problem but locate the catalog(search for .lrcat), click on it, and it will open. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I can't seem to find the .Ircat folder. I used spotlight.  I also checked in the pictures folder and anything labeled adobe.

The Lightroom folder has two sub folders labeled 2015 & 2016.  Those are the file names I used in the program

Check the trash or restore from one of your backups. Unfortunately we can't tell you where to find it as we didn't move it, sorry.
