License Number Issues

I purchased Lightroom 5 in August of last year but a couple of months ago it ceased to work (catalog corruption issues). When I try to download it again and use the serial number I have I can download LR5 but then I can't use the 'develop' mode as it tells me to purchase a license which obviously I did last year. There seems to be no way to contact Adobe via mail other than these fora which I think is utterly appalling for a company the size of Adobe and I desperately need the product I paid for less than a year ago.

Catalog corruption is rare, but still happens from time to time, usually caused by hardware issues.

That wouldn't explain your licensing problems , however, or a need to download Lightroom again.

Where did you purchase Lightroom? Direct from Adobe or through a third party? And what exactly happened? You uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom? And you entered your serial number and then what happened?

Thanks for that Paul.  I'll check it out tomorrow as it's a bit late here  :-)  PS: Any idea why it's so damn hard to contact these people?

Hi Victoria. Apologies, it was LR 6.1 not LR5.  I purchased online from Adobe and it worked fine for about 6 months.  The last few weeks I've had to use trial Versions but they've expired and when I downloaded again all I get is this Message: Develop module is disabled.  Please purchase a License to reactivate develop module.

Obviously I got a License when I bought it in the first place and there seems to be no earthly way to contact these people to discuss this.

No problem! So do you have a record of your serial number, to enter into the trial version? If not, you should find it in your Adobe account on the main Adobe website. If you can't find it, I can give your a direct link when I get back to my desktop. The Adobe Chat people are fairly helpful on activation/licensing issues, but I'm sure we can sort it out for you.

Yeah, I've got the serial number but it keeps asking me to purchase a license!  It's pretty late where I am so I'll leave it until tomorrow to try and sort it out but thank you very much for your help in the meantime  :-)
