Library why doesn't sort setting for added time / capture time persist Lightroom?

When I import photos, LR defaults the view to "added time." I almost never want photos sorted by added time in general, but I certainly never do right when I import photos. Especially when I've shot groups of bracketed photos, I want them sorted by capture time for organizational purposes (I stack each trio or quintet of bracketed photos, and the precise capture order matters). But every time I import photos, I have to change the sort setting again. At a minimum, the "capture time" setting should stick. Personally, I'd also prefer LR automatically select it when I import a new batch of photos.

This should only apply to the Previous Import collection, which uses Added Order because otherwise the grid would be constantly reshuffling as the import continues. Everything else should default to Capture Time.

Added time works in some random way and is different from filename or capture time, so it's quite a useless sort.

Aha, so there's a reason for using "added order," then. That helps explain it. I still don't like it since mostly I import photos in the background (convert to DNG, render 1:1, render smart previews) and come back later when the CPU isn't so overtaxed to organize and edit. From my perspective, I that every time I import photos, there's one more niggly little thing I have to do before I get to work.
