lens profile for Nikon AF Zoom-NIKKOR 24-85mm f/2.8-4D IF?

It looks to me like Lightroom and Photoshop have a built-in lens profile for every currently-made Nikkor lens except the AF Zoom-NIKKOR 24-85mm f/2.8-4D IF:

http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Product...

It's quite a handy workaday lens, but it has significant barrel distortion at the wide end, and its behavior changes with focus distance (its macro mode goes to 1:2). It's a pretty popular lens so I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one who would enjoy seeing it show up in Lightroom.

PS I built my own (limited) profile on a D7000 which I would be happy to submit to you as a starting point.

thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for making a lens profile of your 24-85mm lens! If you'd like to submit your profile to share with others, just attach the lens profile to an email, addressed to:

lcpfiles@adobe.com

then paste the following text into the email body (message):

By sending this e-mail containing the attached lens profile data to Adobe, you grant Adobe a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free and fully paid license to use, modify, reproduce, publicly perform and display, and distribute such lens profile data in products and services created by or on behalf of Adobe.

Then send it off, and once the file passes it will be included for download via the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader utitiliy. Thank you!

There is no preinstalled profile for this lens, but it looks like there are a few third party profiles available for this lens.  They can be downloaded and installed for free using the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5492

Got it, thanks. The downloader had this lens profile associated with several camera models, but not the one I have (D600). Does this matter?

No, that doesn't matter, so long as the sensor size is the same.  Your sensor is full-frame, so you should use the profile that was made with the D3S or the D700, which are also full frame.  It's more likely that the profile quality will vary based on other factors (such as how careful its creator was!), so you may wish to try out more than one, to see if one gives better results than the others.  They're both rated 5 stars though, so they're probably pretty good.  If you like the profile as well (or even if you don't), you can rate it in the downloader app so that other people who come after you will know that the profile is good (or not).
