LIGHTROOM 6 - Lens profile auto problem with SIgma 17-50 F2.8 EX

I recently purchased a Sigma 17 - 50 F2.8 EX DC OS HSM lens and Lightroom 6 is unable to locate a matching profile automatically. I realize I can choose Sigma from the list of lens and it will pick the correct lens but I want it to do all this automatically.............any way to make this happen without doing individually or as a group?

Hi Ron,

It's possible that when support for this lens was added there was insufficient metadata to automatically match it without "Make" being selected as a hint.

Would you mind posting a sample image to Dropbox or similar so we can take a look?

Thanks,

- Chris

Thanks, Ron.

I figured out the issue and it will be fixed in a future release of Lightroom and Camera Raw. Unfortunately, I can't share the details on when that will be.

For now, you can use the "Save new lens profile defaults" option in the Lens Profile tab after choosing SIGMA as the make. This will give Lightroom the hint it needs to automatically match this lens. Once the build with the fix is released you can clear those defaults.
