Lightroom: Left Right Arrow keys do not work in Library mode (Mac)

If Lightroom is opened in Library mode, the arrow keys (left right) do not function to view the different images. If I change to Develop the keys work and if I then change back to Library the arrow keys work. Very annoying. Working on the newest MBPro with 8GB ram. Using LR4 with update.

I am not seeing this on a 3-year old Macbook with Snow Leopard. What is your OS?

Sounds like a focus issue, like an edit field or other control is active. Switching modules commits/releases focus for the keys to work again.

The OS for the new MBPro is 10.7.3.
If Lightroom was closed and opens into the Library mode, what control would be active that would cause this?
Thanks for the responses.

That was just a wild a$$ guess on my part - normally it shouldn't happen - unless there's a 3rd party plug-in add on, possibly. If you get into a state where the arrow keys stop working, does hitting esc or return then allow the arrow keys to work? if not, then it's not a focus issue.

Interesting, return does not but escape does allow for the keys to be used!

So, something is eating the keyboard events. Esc dismisses whatever is doing it. Do you have any 3rd party plug-ins installed for Lightroom?

I would disable any plug-ins from Lightroom via File>Plug-in Manager...
