Photoshop CS6: Layers going black when saving as .jpg or flattening

Layers go black when trying to save a .jpg or flatten. Then the paint bucket tool stops working...... All of this happens after using the quick selection tool. Doing the exact same steps as done many times before this did not happen in version 5.5. Win 7 64 bit. The PS program has to be closed and restarted after editing each photo. It is extremely flaky, reminds of the days of memory leaks....

CS6 extended, win7 64, Dell T7500 workstation 12gb, this machine is my ISV certified workstation for Solidworks. I just shot a video of it and will post it on Youtube because I cannot find how to upload it on here.

OK, that is certainly weird. (BTW - a screen recorder like jing would have been faster and easier to see)

Yes, I need to get a copy of that document. You could send it to ccox (at) adobe (dot) com, or post a link here.

Chris,

Just emailed 2 files, they are 4.4m combined, so if you did not get them let me know and they will be sent up to a server.

Thank you for the tip about jing, this machine is highly restricted and that software can not be installed.

Alright, I'll take a look once I get back to the office.
If you can include a description of how you used quick select, that might also help (since it sounds like that might be getting the document into a bad state).
