Photoshop: Layer palette has problems resizing with external display

While running Photoshop on my MacBook Pro, I will often need to plug in and unplug my external display throughout my day.

After I plug in the external display to my MBP, the layer palette will not resize vertically beyond the height that it was on my MBP's screen. It will constrain itself to a short height even though the other palettes resize properly. The constraint cannot be overcome until I quit and restart the PSD app.

It's very frustrating.

We're trying to reproduce. It would be useful to get more info. For example, are you mirroring? What is the resolution of the second monitor?

Was Photoshop being moved between displays? Or was the Layers panel dragged out as floating and being dragged back and forth from one display to another?

Full resolution screenshots of each of the screens before and after the external monitor is attached may also be useful.

Photoshop was moved onto external display from the 15" MBP, expanding the desktop, not mirroring. The other palettes expand and contract as they should; only the layers palette has problems.
