Layer non-responsive after dragging in from desktop

When a graphic (jpg, png or other) is dragged into a document from th desktop, that layer becomes non-responsive and the selection tool can't move it. It appears to be locked in place.

I've found that clicking the tab of another open document and then back to the original document will refresh the layer and everything will act normal. This is a big, however.

My systems: Mac OSX 10.0, 10.1 on the latest CS6 release. Have reproduced this on desktops and portables.

Photoshop CS6 won't run on MacOS 10.1. Which OS version are you using?
Did you install the update for Photoshop CS6?

Haha, sorry about that. I meant 10.8.0 and 10.8.1.

Actually, I've narrowed it down to images dragged in with a profile mismatch from the current document (working sRGB and a monitor color space graphic dragged in). This is the same with dragging in an image straight from a browser.
