Photoshop: Layer Labels/Tags for Similar Layers that Reside in Separate Groups

Please add the ability to add labels to layers with the ability to apply effects/styles/formatting/etc based on the labels (like a saved selection of layers regardless of layer folders/groups/links).

My particular idea comes from having several text layers that were similarly formatted blocks that I wanted to change the formatting of all (kerning, weight, etc.) at once but were in separate block related groups due the document structure which required manual ctrl+click selection of the related layers. Further formatting alterations required manually reselecting those same related layers.

I suppose a library of document-local formatting would accomplish the same thing, where you create a text-format style for a block of text and link to it on the other blocks. That way when you change the style all text blocks utilizing it automatically update their formatting.

I would expect to be able to apply layer styles to the tags / format preset.

Awesome.

I hope I didn't come across as demanding, I just wanted to be sure to communicate as much of my idea as it was evolving in my head before I started forgetting things.
