reveal all option used with layer mask  does NOT produce a white mask on my layer.  I have only an icon for a mask accompanied by the mask property panel (which does display a mask).  I want the mask on the layer so I can paint on it.

Hi D,

have you tried updating to 20.0.2 which was released this AM? If you're still having trouble after updating, let us know. A screen shot of what you're seeing (entire screen with all the panels and image) might help us troubleshoot further.

Open the Layer Panel Menu and set the Thumbnail  size to anything other than None

D Lee:  When you say "does not produce a while mask on my layer", it sounds like you're referring to what happens if you option click (Mac) or alt click (Windows) the Layer Mask Thumbnail in the Layers Panel.  Your document will turn white, presenting the Layer Mask to be painted upon directly.  You're probably already aware that white reveals and black conceals.  Option-click or alt-click the Layer Mask Thumbnail again to return to the image.   -Warren
